Construction tailored to a specific cabinet
Extended pins are used on top of each stand. They receive or help dissipate resonances from the loudspeaker cabinet. At the same time, the pins provide mechanical isolation between the speaker and the floor.
This mechanical action depends on the intended contact between the Harbeth Compact 7/C7 cabinet and the upper pins. The speaker must rest securely on these support points, so it should not be positioned off-centre, tilted or only partially supported.
Because these stands are tailored to a particular model, they should not be selected for other loudspeakers merely because their cabinets have similar dimensions. Check the exact model of your Harbeth speakers before purchasing.
Solid wood and a natural finish
The stands are made from selected solid wood. The timber comes from local FSC-certified forests, and the surface receives a multi-stage finish.
Natural oils and pigments are applied through several finishing stages. The main structure is solid wood, while the TonTräger logo is made from brass.
Handmade in the TonTräger workshop
The stands are planned, developed and tested in the TonTräger workshop. Hand craftsmanship is combined with a high degree of manufacturing precision. The upper pins are a functional part of the model-specific design.
Preparation and placement
The pair is supplied fully assembled and ready for immediate placement. No additional frame assembly is required. After unpacking, first inspect the supporting surfaces and make sure that both stands sit securely on the floor.
Choose a level, firm location for the stands. Position the left and right stands consistently in relation to the room layout, listening position and Harbeth’s placement guidance for the speakers. Select the final distance from the walls and the amount of toe-in according to the conditions in your room, adjusting both stands equally in small increments.
Move the empty stands into their final positions first, then carefully lower the speakers onto them. Hold each speaker with both hands and align it with the extended upper pins. Check that the cabinet is securely supported, does not move and is not twisted relative to the stand. Do not press the pins or attempt to replace them with different supporting elements.
Once both speakers are in place, compare their positions relative to the listening seat. The stands should share the same orientation, and both loudspeaker cabinets must remain securely supported. If their positions need to be changed, it is safer to remove each speaker before moving its stand instead of sliding the complete assembly across the floor.
Leave enough slack in the loudspeaker cables so that they do not pull on the cabinets or alter their position on the supporting pins. Route each cable so that it does not create a trip hazard or apply a sideways load to the stand.
Harbeth loudspeakers are not included. This product consists solely of the pair of stands intended for them.
