Sound Adjustment

A five-band graphic equalizer lets you adjust separate frequency ranges. Source-level adjustment helps reduce sudden volume changes when switching between CD, radio, USB and AUX.

High-pass and low-pass filters are useful when connecting an amplifier or subwoofer. Set them according to the frequency range reproduced by the connected system. Advanced Sound Retriever is intended to improve the playback of compressed music files.

The built-in MOSFET amplifier is rated at a maximum output of 4 × 50 W. This is a maximum-power figure, not a continuous RMS rating.

Installation and Controls

The standard 1-DIN chassis fits a dashboard opening of the corresponding height. Before installation, allow enough space around the faceplate for USB and AUX plugs. DAB reception requires a suitable antenna purchased separately. The optional antenna specified for this model is the Pioneer AN-DAB1.

The front panel is fully detachable, so it can be taken with you when leaving the vehicle. A protective faceplate case is an optional accessory. The buttons have red illumination, and display brightness can be adjusted through ten levels.

Phone and App Support

The USB control functions were designed for phones and applications available around the time this model was released. The documented Android range is versions 4.1-5.1, with USB music playback, charging and app control supported at that time.

The original Apple compatibility reference point was the iPhone 5. Documented iPod and iPhone functions included direct control, list browsing, music playback and charging. Operation with current phones, operating systems, Spotify, Pioneer ARC or other applications is not guaranteed.
