Zidoo NEO Alpha is a 4K media and Hi-Fi audio player for home cinema, stereo and headphone systems. Its separate HDMI audio output allows video and sound to be routed to different components in the system. The ESS ES9038PRO DAC and XLR and RCA preamplifier outputs allow the player to connect directly to a power amplifier or active speakers. The installed 512 GB SSD is complemented by a bay for an optional 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch drive.
Zidoo NEO α (Alpha) Signature Edition is a 4K media player, Hi-Fi audio player, digital-to-analogue converter, preamplifier and headphone amplifier. It delivers video at resolutions up to 4K at 60 frames per second, while stereo audio is available through the XLR, RCA or 6.35 mm headphone output.
The main HDMI 2.0a output carries both video and audio bitstreams. In music mode, the separate HDMI 1.4 audio and DSD output transmits native DSD64 in two-channel or 5.1-channel form; in movie mode, it carries the audio bitstream. The XLR and RCA connections are preamplifier outputs, so they cannot drive passive speakers directly.
The installed 512 GB M.2 SATA SSD is complemented by a separate bay for a 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch drive, which is not included. Before purchasing, it is worth checking the current status of firmware, mobile-app, MQA and operating-system compatibility.

Which output should I use for a stereo or home cinema system?
For a stereo amplifier, choose XLR or RCA according to the connections available on the amplifier. With an AV receiver, use the separate HDMI audio output and reserve the main HDMI connection for the television or projector.
Can the internal storage capacity be expanded?
Yes. In addition to the installed 512 GB SSD, there is a separate SATA bay for a 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch drive, which must be purchased separately.
How should I select the headphone gain mode?
For headphones rated at 16-32 ohms, begin with the low-gain setting. High-gain mode is intended for models rated at 32-300 ohms. Reduce the volume before switching between gain modes.
What should I consider when positioning the player?
The chassis requires at least 430 × 300 mm of shelf space, together with additional room for the connections at the rear. Do not cover the enclosure, as the passive cooling system dissipates heat through the chassis.
