Speaker construction
The tweeters feature silk domes, silk surrounds and an edge-driven design. Ferrofluid is used in the voice-coil gap, while the magnetic systems use neodymium magnets.
The woofer cones are made from injection-moulded, mineral-filled polypropylene. They are supported by rubber surrounds and flat Conex spiders. The cones are mounted in stamped-steel frames, and the motor systems have been optimised using the DMA method.
The flexible lead wires are routed and secured to the spiders. This arrangement keeps the leads properly positioned within the woofer assembly.
Connections and amplifier selection
The system has a nominal impedance of 4 ohms. Recommended amplifier power is 10-75 W RMS per channel. The separately stated 50 W RMS rating refers to the system’s continuous power handling, not the upper limit of the recommended amplifier range. These figures describe different aspects of the system and should not be treated as interchangeable.
The tweeters connect through the supplied third-order high-pass filters. These external in-line filters include a tweeter protection circuit.
Maintain matching polarity on both sides of the vehicle during installation. Increase amplifier gain only until the signal remains clean. The built-in protection circuit does not replace correct amplifier setup or careful gain adjustment.
Installation options
Surface-mount and flush-mount tweeter hardware is included. Surface mounting is useful when you do not want to enlarge an opening in the vehicle trim. Flush mounting produces a less prominent installation, but it requires sufficient mounting depth and clear space behind the trim panel.
Universal adapter rings are supplied for the woofers. They are intended for enlarged 6.5-inch and 6.75-inch vehicle openings. Without the rings, the speakers fit many nominal 6-inch locations.
The nominal opening diameter alone is not enough to confirm compatibility. Before choosing the system, measure the available mounting depth, check the screw pattern and inspect the free space behind the speaker. You should also confirm that the cone and surround will not touch the door trim when the speaker is operating.

Do the adapter rings guarantee installation in every vehicle?
