Pioneer XPRS 15 is an active PA speaker for stage use, events, music and speech. Its 15-inch low-frequency driver and 1200 W continuous-power amplifier are designed to deliver high sound pressure levels. Four EQ modes adapt its response for a main system, dance music, speech or stage-monitor use. XLR/TRS and RCA inputs, together with XLR outputs, accommodate multiple sources and system expansion.
Pioneer XPRS 15 is a 15-inch, two-way, full-range active PA speaker designed for events, stage use and speech. It is sold individually, so two speakers are required for a stereo system. The built-in Powersoft Class D amplifier delivers 1200 W of continuous power.
Construction and sound reproduction
The 15 mm birch plywood cabinet has an impact-resistant, black semi-matt textured finish. This is not a bass-reflex enclosure. An AFAST acoustic tube reduces standing waves that form inside the cabinet, helping the speaker maintain clearer low- and mid-frequency reproduction.
The 15-inch ferrite low-frequency driver is paired with a 1.75-inch titanium-diaphragm compression driver. The high-frequency compression driver uses a neodymium magnetic system. The two frequency bands are divided at 2.0 kHz.
Connections and system expansion
Two balanced XLR/TRS combination inputs accept a microphone, mixing console or another line-level source. Two unbalanced RCA connectors are provided for a portable player or a similar audio source. A microphone and a line-level device can be connected at the same time.
Two balanced XLR direct outputs pass signals to additional speakers or subwoofers. A separate balanced Mixed XLR output carries the combined signal from the connected sources. This makes it possible to expand the system without requiring an additional signal splitter.
Controls for different applications
A rotary switch on the rear panel selects one of four EQ modes. Flat preserves the source’s neutral balance, while Bass + strengthens the low frequencies for dance music. Speech emphasizes vocal clarity. Wedge reduces low frequencies when the speaker is being used as a stage monitor.
The front status LED can indicate either power or limiter activity. It can also be switched off when a visible indication is not required.
Positioning and installation
The rotatable high-frequency horn provides 90° horizontal by 60° vertical dispersion. It can be rotated to suit either vertical or horizontal speaker placement, maintaining the appropriate dispersion direction when the mounting orientation changes.
The 35 mm pole socket offers a choice of 0° or 7° tilt. Twelve M10 mounting points are provided for suspended installation. The wedge-shaped enclosure can also be placed on its side on stage and used as a monitor speaker.
The speaker weighs 28.5 kg, so carrying it with two people is more practical. A transport handle on each side makes lifting and positioning the enclosure easier.
Power and protection
Power Factor Correction reduces power consumption and helps the amplifier operate steadily. The auto-ranging power supply supports 100 V and 110-240 V operation at 50 or 60 Hz. It is also intended for event venues using generators or temporary power supplies.
The amplifier is protected by thermal limiting, over-temperature muting and output overcurrent protection. Driver protection includes DC offset removal, long-term high-frequency signal protection and input voltage limiting. Output voltage is limited separately for the low- and high-frequency drivers.
Power-supply protection responds to primary AC overvoltage and overcurrent. Warranty cover of up to seven years may be available when the product is registered online within 90 days. Warranty duration and registration availability depend on the manufacturer’s terms and the region.
