Dual ESS ES9038Q2M DACs and an XMOS XU316 processor handle stereo PCM up to 768 kHz / 32-bit. DSD512 and MQA decoding are also supported. These limits apply to playback, DAC operation and the USB audio input.
Sources and network features
The player can connect to a home network through its gigabit RJ-45 Ethernet port or dual-band Wi-Fi. A wired connection is suitable for a permanent installation, while wireless networking reduces the number of cables required.

The Bluetooth 5.0 input accepts SBC, AAC, aptX, aptX Low Latency, aptX HD and LDAC signals. It provides a convenient way to start playing audio quickly from a compatible mobile device.
Digital connections
The USB-C audio input is intended for a computer or compatible mobile device. The stated compatibility includes Windows 7, Windows 10, macOS, Android and iOS.
The optical and coaxial inputs are suitable for a television, CD transport or another digital source. They support PCM up to 192 kHz / 24-bit and DSD64 via DoP. The optical and coaxial outputs have the same limits.
The HDMI audio output carries native DSD64 or unprocessed multichannel PCM up to 192 kHz. This is an audio output and is not intended to carry a video signal.
Analogue connections and control
The balanced XLR output is designed for an amplifier with XLR inputs. Its stated output level is 5.2 V. The unbalanced RCA output provides 2.6 V and is suitable for widely used analogue inputs.
When changing outputs, it is advisable to begin with the amplifier volume set low. The different output levels may produce an audible change in volume.
The 6-inch LCD touchscreen allows the player to be controlled directly at the unit. A mobile app provides control from the listening position.
Storage and placement
The internal M.2 NVMe 3.0 2280 SSD slot can accommodate a drive of up to 2 TB for a music library. An SSD is not listed among the supplied accessories, so its inclusion should be confirmed before purchase. Two USB-A 3.0 ports are provided for connecting USB devices.
The enclosure measures 187 mm deep, 270 mm wide and 90 mm high. Allow additional shelf space for the rear connections and cable bends. The player is suitable for a 110-240 V, 50/60 Hz mains supply.
