IsoTek EVO3 Sequel Power Cable

295,00 €

IsoTek EVO3 Sequel is a power cable for CD players, amplifiers and other audio and video equipment. Three 2.0 mm² silver-plated oxygen-free copper conductors and an oxygen-free copper braided shield form its electrical transmission structure. The 2.0 m cable is available with a C7, C15 or C19 appliance connector, allowing the version to be matched to the equipment’s power inlet.

Description

IsoTek EVO3 Sequel is a 2.0 m power cable designed for audio and video equipment. It uses three 2.0 mm² conductors made from silver-plated oxygen-free copper, together with an oxygen-free copper braided shield. Three appliance connector versions are available, allowing the cable to be matched to the power inlet of a specific component.

This model is suitable for CD players, preamplifiers, radio receivers and tuners, and power amplifiers. It can also be used with Blu-ray players, music servers, televisions and soundbars.

Conductors and internal construction

The cable contains three 2.0 mm² conductors. Each conductor is made from oxygen-free copper with a stated purity of 99.9999% and is finished with silver plating.

An FEP dielectric electrically insulates the conductive elements. Cotton filler occupies the spaces between the internal parts and helps maintain their arrangement. Together, these materials form an orderly internal structure along the full length of the cable.

A Mylar barrier separates the internal construction from the outer PVC jacket. Shielding is provided by an oxygen-free copper braid. This braid surrounds the internal cable elements to form a conductive shielding layer.

The outer jacket is made from highly flexible PVC. This is particularly useful when routing a 10 mm diameter cable behind an equipment rack or cabinet. The flexibility makes it easier to guide the cable along the required path, although sufficient space should still be left beside each connector for a relaxed bend.

Choosing the appliance connector

The IsoTek EVO3 Sequel is available with a choice of C7, C15 or C19 appliance connector. These are separate cable versions rather than interchangeable plugs supplied with a single cable. The correct version is determined by the shape and type of the power inlet on the component being connected.

Before ordering, compare the component’s inlet with the connector on its existing power cable. A broadly similar appearance is not enough to confirm compatibility. The connector must match the inlet precisely and fit without being forced.

The cable is terminated with audiophile-grade connectors featuring 24-carat gold-plated contacts. The selected appliance connector is a fixed part of the cable and cannot later be exchanged as a removable tip. It is therefore sensible to consider any planned equipment changes before ordering a particular version.

Current rating and system selection

The cable has a stated current rating of 16 A. This rating describes the cable itself; it does not indicate how much power the connected component consumes. It also does not override the limits specified for the equipment, wall socket or any other part of the electrical system.

In a stereo system, the cable may be used to power a source component, preamplifier or power amplifier. In a home cinema system, it may be selected for a Blu-ray player, television or soundbar. The connector version must be chosen separately for every component according to that component’s power inlet.

Planning the cable length and route

The standard length is 2.0 m. The cable has an outside diameter of 10 mm. When checking the required length, measure the complete route from the power socket to the equipment. A straight-line measurement does not account for bends, shelf edges or the clearance required behind the connector.

Custom lengths can also be ordered. This option is useful when the standard cable would leave an unnecessarily large loop or would be too short for the intended route. Choosing a suitable length helps prevent strain on the connector and avoids needless coiling behind the equipment.

When routing the cable behind a cabinet, do not trap it against a sharp edge. Leaving free space around the connector reduces mechanical stress on both the plug and the equipment inlet. The highly flexible PVC jacket helps when guiding the cable through a confined equipment area, but the cable should still follow a smooth path without severe bends.

FAQ

Which connector version should I order, and can it be changed later?

Order the C7, C15 or C19 version that exactly matches the power inlet on your equipment. The selected connector is a fixed part of the cable, so it cannot later be replaced as though it were an interchangeable tip.

Is the cable suitable for a television or soundbar?

Yes. The cable is intended for televisions and soundbars, provided that the selected appliance connector version matches the power inlet on the particular device.

What does the stated current rating mean?

It is the current rating of the cable itself. The complete power chain is always governed by the element with the lowest permitted rating.

Can the same connector version be used throughout an audio system?

Only if all the selected components have matching power inlets. A source component, amplifier and television may use different appliance connector types.

How much space should be left behind the equipment?

Leave enough room for the cable’s diameter and a relaxed bend beside the connector. The cable should not be bent sharply or allowed to place pressure on the equipment’s power inlet.

When is a custom length worth choosing?

First measure the actual cable route, including the path around shelves and through bends. A custom length is useful when the standard version would place the cable under tension or create a large, unnecessary loop.
