The 1DIN media chassis is mounted above the screen and is designed for vehicles with limited space inside the radio slot; the Seat Leon is given as an example. The capacitive WXGA display has a resolution of 1280 × 720, uses white LED backlighting and supports both NTSC and PAL systems.
Phone and media
Compatible navigation apps are displayed through Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. Their operation depends on the phone, operating system and availability of the relevant services. A GPS antenna is included. Bluetooth 4.2 supports hands-free calls and wireless music streaming.
The two supplied USB cables serve different purposes. The first port supports data transfer, while the second is intended for charging only. Hi-Res Audio playback is available through USB.
Sound and integration
The Class D amplifier’s 4 × 50 W rating is its maximum output, not an RMS power figure. Sound-adjustment features include a parametric equalizer, time correction and a digital crossover. Digital radio reception depends on local broadcasts and the antenna used in the vehicle.
The two Camera Direct connections do not support the KCX-C250MC switching box. Integration with the DVR-C320S allows the recorder to be controlled and recordings to be viewed through the receiver. The dash cam and vehicle cameras are not included. Vehicle-specific adapters and installation parts must also be selected separately.
