Direct drive and three speeds
The direct-drive system rotates the platter without using a belt. Its specified wow and flutter is less than ±0.04%, measured according to the weighted DIN method. This figure describes variations in rotational speed during playback.
You can select 33, 45 or 78 rpm, making the turntable suitable for records from different formats and release periods. When playing 78 rpm records, you must use a stylus and cartridge setup suitable for the specific record.
Tonearm construction and adjustment
The statically balanced tonearm uses four pivot ball bearings and a double gimbal mounting. Its effective length is 221 mm, with a 24° offset angle. This construction allows the tonearm to be balanced precisely before the tracking force is set.
Tracking force is adjustable from 0 to 3 g. Cartridges weighing between 5 and 9 g are supported. If you replace the factory-installed cartridge, the new model must fall within this weight range. The tonearm must be balanced again after changing the cartridge.
There is no automatic start or stop function. The tonearm must be lowered onto and lifted from the record manually. At the end of a record, the turntable does not return the tonearm automatically.
Connecting the turntable to an audio system
The analogue signal is delivered through RCA sockets. The output is intended for the phono input of an amplifier or a separate phono stage. When choosing an amplifier input, it is important to use phono equalisation suitable for the cartridge type.
The turntable cannot be connected directly to a standard line-level input. A suitable external phono stage is required for such a system. There is no digital output, so digital recording or connection would require a separate converter.
Construction and placement
The 304 mm platter is made from solid aluminium. Together with its 4.5 mm rubber mat, it weighs 2,800 g. The platter bearing consists of a hardened steel spindle and a brass bushing.
The multilayer MDF plinth has an individually selected wood finish. The four feet measure 60 mm in diameter and are height-adjustable. They can be used to level the plinth when the turntable is placed on a stable piece of furniture.
With the dust cover closed, the turntable requires a base area of 450 × 370 mm and has an overall height of 155 mm. Opening the cover increases the height to 405 mm. Sufficient clearance must therefore be left above the turntable.
