This is a standalone cleaning device, so it does not need to be connected to the audio inputs or outputs of a turntable or amplifier. It can be used to care for a collection before listening or to prepare a record before returning it to its sleeve.
Cleaning process and rotation direction
The bidirectional motor can rotate the record forwards and backwards. The recommended process is one forward rotation followed by one reverse rotation. A single rotation takes approximately two seconds, so this stage of the cleaning process does not take long.
The aluminium record clamp covers the record label and protects it from cleaning fluid. The metal vacuum arm concentrates suction directly on the record surface. Its purpose is to collect the used fluid from the side being cleaned.
Used-fluid collection
The internal used-fluid tank has a capacity of 2.5 litres. A fill-level indicator helps you determine when the tank should be emptied. The tank is designed for straightforward emptying, while the collection system helps reduce the likelihood of used fluid being spilled.
When Wash-IT concentrate is used, collected fluid can evaporate inside the tank. This cleaning concentrate is alcohol-free and helps reduce static charge. The tank should still be checked regularly using the fill-level indicator.
Assembly and placement
The side of the record platter with the conical screw recess must face upwards. The locking screw secures the platter to the spindle and bearing.
Place the record mat on top of the platter, over the locking screw. If the platter is installed upside down, it may rotate unevenly. Before cleaning a record for the first time, check that the platter is facing the correct way and rotates evenly.
Place the machine on a firm, level surface. Leave enough room around the enclosure to position a record, operate the vacuum arm and empty the tank. The machine weighs 8 kg.
