JACQUES LOUSSIER TRIO – RAVEL’S BOLERO

The Jacques Loussier Trio has achieved fame far beyond France with its reinterpretations of classical works. The Best of Play Bach album has long been part of the standard equipment of hi-fi fans who allow themselves to think outside the box. This album is dedicated to Maurice Ravel’s Bolero in a jazz version and Loussier’s Nympheas composition. Musically, the Bolero is easy to recognize, but you’ve never heard it like this before.

Audiophiles will be delighted with the combination of Steinway, double bass and drums. But be careful – the bass range is anything but subtle and mini monitors could quickly feel overwhelmed.

Ultra HD 32-bit mastering & PureFlection

This mastering format was developed by FIM and Five/Four Productions. Five/Four Productions is made up of the former Telarc production team who wished they could master the best possible sound quality without having to compromise on lower quality equipment. The Five/Four Productions team has won 16 Grammys and countless other awards.

It is digitized with a word length of 32 bits and a sampling frequency adapted to the original material. If possible, 192 KHz is used, but with some materials lower sampling rates are an advantage in terms of sound. The Ultra-HD 32-bit productions can be played back on any CD player with excellent sound quality.

The term PureFlection refers to the new way of producing the glass master for the latest FIM productions. This is not created in the press shop as part of normal production, as is usually the case, but by a specialist on a specially modified machine for cutting Blu-Ray glass masters. Before the CDs are manufactured, the quality of the glass master is checked and the new booklets contain the test report of this check. The result is significantly lower jitter values ​​and also lower error values ​​than with conventional industrial productions and the resulting sound has an organic appearance in contrast to many modern productions.
