If loudspeaker vibration reaches the turntable, increase the distance between them or use a separate stable piece of furniture. Leave enough space for the gatefold sleeve and both records so that neither disc needs to be placed on the floor or an unstable surface while changing sides.

Connection to an audio system

A vinyl record is not connected directly to an amplifier; its signal is provided by the turntable. Connect a turntable without a built-in phono preamplifier to the amplifier’s PHONO input or to a separate phono preamplifier. If the turntable has a built-in preamplifier and a selectable LINE output, it can be connected to a standard analogue amplifier input. Do not use LINE mode with a PHONO input. If the turntable has a grounding wire, connect it as instructed by the manufacturer of the turntable, phono preamplifier or amplifier. Before listening, select the amplifier input to which the turntable or phono preamplifier is connected.

Stereo, home cinema and multi-device systems

In a traditional stereo system, the shortest signal path consists of a turntable, a suitable phono preamplifier, an amplifier and loudspeakers. In a home cinema system, you can use an AV amplifier’s PHONO input. If it has no such input, use a separate phono preamplifier connected to an analogue input.

In a multi-device or multi-zone system, the turntable signal must first be amplified correctly by a phono preamplifier. It can then be routed only through an analogue input supported by the system or another signal-distribution method provided by the manufacturer. Compatibility is determined by the available system inputs, not by the record itself.

Pressing and packaging

According to the seller’s information, this is an ORG pressing mastered by Bernie Grundman. The seller also states that the two records are housed in an extra-thick gatefold sleeve. This packaging provides room for both discs and allows the album to be stored as one complete set.
