Steg SQ 130C speakers<\/strong> are a 2-way 130 mm component system designed for in-car audio installations. The nominal 4-ohm impedance<\/strong> and 80 W RMS power rating<\/strong> are the main reference points when selecting an amplifier. The woofers and tweeters are installed separately, allowing their positions to be planned independently.<\/p>\n

Separate speakers and their purpose<\/h2>\n

The system uses an SQ130WF woofer<\/strong> and an LQ25 tweeter<\/strong>. This is a component design rather than a coaxial speaker system: the tweeter is not mounted on the woofer.<\/p>\n

The LQ25 can be fitted higher in the cabin or in a factory-prepared location. Provided that the available mounting positions in the vehicle allow it, the separate tweeter can be installed in a different part of the cabin from the woofer. The SQ130WF features a coated paper cone<\/strong>, machined pole plates and a 25 mm voice coil.<\/p>\n

Amplifier selection and connection<\/h2>\n

Nominal impedance<\/strong> describes the load presented to the amplifier. The amplifier’s speaker output must operate reliably with this load. The stated RMS power rating is 80 W and should be treated as a reference when matching amplifier power.<\/p>\n

Maintain the same polarity<\/strong> when connecting the speakers on the left and right sides. Before permanently securing the components, check that both channels operate correctly. Without its housing, the LQ25 measures 46.5 mm<\/strong> in diameter and 7 mm in depth. Its total height with the protective grille is 20.5 mm. These dimensions are important when mounting the tweeter on trim or positioning it inside a restricted cavity.<\/p>\n

The flush-mount cup requires a 49 mm cut-out<\/strong> and 16 mm of mounting depth. The cup has an outer diameter of 58 mm. Before cutting the trim, make sure its outer edge will not cover switches, seams or other nearby elements.<\/p>\n

Practical positioning and adjustment<\/h2>\n

Install the tweeters at a similar height on both sides of the vehicle. Avoid positions where trim panels or other components would obstruct them. Before drilling any holes, temporarily secure the tweeters and listen from both seats to assess the selected positions.<\/p>\n

The woofer mounting surface should be flat. An uneven base can prevent the frame from being clamped down evenly. Allow sufficient clearance for the cone as well as any protective sections of the door trim.<\/p>\n
